We’re sure that most people aren’t thinking about Christmas yet but there are some organised folk out there who like to get things booked well in advance! Over the past couple of months our team of chefs have been working hard to put together a delicious Christmas menu for this year.
Our 3 course Christmas menu has been carefully created to include some new and exciting dishes alongside the traditional Christmas favourites.
Our Christmas menu will run from Friday 29th November to Tuesday 24th December 2019 alongside our normal menu.
Cappuccino of wild mushroom, garlic and roasted chestnut soup, served with rustic bread and butter
Welsh marmalade gin cured Scottish salmon with a horseradish remoulade, soft boiled quail’s egg and lumpfish caviar (gf)
Wild boar, rabbit and pistachio terrine, served with pesto dressed salad leaves, toasted sourdough bread and soused prunes (gfo)
Panko coated local Welsh goats cheese with a pear & candied walnut salad and star anise spiced pickled beetroot (v, vegan option with harissa spiced tofu)
Locally sourced smoked breast of chicken on a watercress, pea shoot, charred orange and shallot salad, with a celeriac remoulade and wholegrain mustard dressing (gf)
Traditional local roast turkey with chestnut, sage and apricot stuffing, pigs in blankets, duck fat roasted potatoes, honey glazed parsnips, pan roasted buttered sprouts with pancetta and a homemade cranberry compôte (gfo)
Pan fried loin of cod topped with Welsh rarebit served with a crab & dill panko coated potato cake, accompanied by a local mussel, shallot, leek, white wine and parsley cream chowder
Slow braised shin of beef with a rich port, baby onion & red wine sauce, served on a bed of savoy cabbage with creamed horseradish potatoes, and carrot & parsnip crisps (gf)
Sweet potato linguini bound with a red pepper and tomato ragout, charred courgette, parmesan tuille and fresh spinach & parsley pesto (v,vegan without the tuille)
Pot roasted Cheshire pheasant with a celeriac and sage dauphinoise potato, braised sticky red cabbage, buttered winter greens and a rich port & juniper berry sauce (gf)
Traditional luxury Christmas pudding with spiced ginger roasted plums, plum coulis and a rum & cream sauce
Warmed treacle tart with a winter berry compôte and locally-made dairy free coconut & vanilla ice cream (vg)
Salted caramel & mascarpone cheesecake garnished with caramelised banana and a rich toffee sauce
Mincemeat and cranberry Christmas Bakewell tart served with custard or vanilla pod ice cream
White chocolate & Baileys panna cotta with a fresh raspberry compôte and chocolate tuille
A selection of local Welsh cheese served with biscuits and a homemade fig and orange chutney and grape and celery salad:
Perl Wen – soft welsh brie, Per Las – creamy blue cheese and Snowdonia Bouncing Berry – mature cheddar with cranberries (gfo) (£2.50 supplement)

Booking/ Pre Order
Booking is required when dining from our Christmas menu along with a pre-order no less than 14 days before dining. Christmas party bookings must be made by telephone or in person ONLY, they cannot be booked through our online system. Please call 01492 546 570 to check availability and book your table now.
